TUNE Dave Hughes - Backwards We Play

The song is about a soldier in a warzone, and his tale is told backwards so that there's a happy ending. With all the talk of pulling out of Afghanistan, personally, if they could have brought them all home yesterday, that would be great.

Recorded as a demo, it forms part of my new EP entitled Seven Songs. It's acoustic lo-fi folk, with an unwitting hoover solo from the wife. Recorded on a 1976 Wharfdale cassette deck.

The chorus borrows a line from a Tracy Curtis song called "All the girls love a soldier"
